One of my favourite books is Light on Life by B.K.S. Iyengar.
Rather than focusing on yoga postures, this book explores yoga as a way of living. Iyengar shares how yoga can support not only physical health, but also mental clarity, emotional balance, and personal growth. Drawing on his many years of teaching, he explains how practices such as discipline, self-awareness, and mindfulness can help us navigate everyday life. I often recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the deeper philosophy of yoga and wants to understand more than just the physical practice. If you’re looking for a detailed guide to yoga poses, Light on Yoga is the better choice. Alternatively, Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health is a more accessible and user-friendly guide to postures and practice this would be my first recommendation Light on Life is a book I return to often, and one that continues to offer new insights each time I read it.
